Technical Malfunction Issues

Multiple users report issues with the Dolphin E10, primarily related to movement failures, electrical problems, and operational inconsistencies, often despite attempts to troubleshoot and clean the device.

  • Movement Failures: Several users have noted that the E10 moves for a very short duration (approximately 5-10 seconds) before stopping completely. This problem is frequently mentioned and persists even after users attempt to troubleshoot or clean the unit.
  • Power and Electrical Issues: Reports indicate that some units fail to turn on or exhibit erratic behavior, such as running briefly before shutting down. Users have experienced situations where the power supply light remains on, but the robot ceases to function.
  • Filter Box Malfunctions: A user reported that the filter box door opens unexpectedly, which could lead to operational inefficiencies. This issue appears to be less common but still noteworthy among users.
  • General Failure to Operate: A recurring theme is the inability of the unit to operate effectively, with users stating that it may turn on but fails to move or clean properly, regardless of the condition of the vacuum unit or absence of debris.

Power and Charging Issues

Multiple users report issues with the Dolphin E10, primarily related to power failures and electrical malfunctions, with many experiencing the unit not turning on or tripping breakers when plugged in.

  • Power Failure: Numerous users indicate that the Dolphin E10 fails to turn on, with the unit momentarily lighting up before shutting off. This issue is prevalent among devices that are less than 12 months old.
  • Breaker Tripping: Several reports highlight that the power supply causes circuit breakers to trip when plugged in, suggesting significant electrical faults that may pose safety concerns.
  • Inconsistent Startup Behavior: Users have noted that the unit occasionally shows signs of powering on, such as momentary lights, yet fails to maintain operation, indicating potential internal component issues.
  • User Troubleshooting Attempts: Many users have attempted basic troubleshooting measures, such as checking connections and resetting the device, but these efforts often do not resolve the issues.

Performance Issues

Multiple users report issues with the Dolphin E10, primarily related to movement inconsistencies, vacuuming inefficiencies, and operational failures, often despite following troubleshooting steps.

  • Movement Inconsistencies: Users frequently note that the robot unexpectedly surfaces or turns in circles, indicating potential problems with its navigation system. Some reports suggest that only one side of the track is functioning properly.
  • Vacuuming Inefficiencies: Many users express frustration with the robot’s inability to effectively vacuum, with debris remaining on the pool bottom despite using both filter baskets. This issue seems prevalent, even after multiple cleaning cycles.
  • Flipping Upside Down: A specific concern among users is that the Dolphin E10 flips upside down during operation, which has not been a common issue in the past.
  • General Operational Failures: Users report that the robot has always missed large areas of the pool, leading to dissatisfaction with its performance, especially considering the investment made in the device.

      • Mine does to just bought it . It’s pissing me off lol I have it in the pool for over an. Hour I check it and very little it sucked up but everyone else’s is kicking but with sucking like what the heck Is wrong with this thing

    • I took mine apart, cleaned everything, put it back in the pool and start in one direction, change directions and then stop after like 1 second. took it out, plugged it in runs in both directions fine, put it back in the pool and one direction, then another for 1 sec and stop. I was looking at the trouble shooting guide – “unplug from outlet for 30 seconds and then plug back in, resets unit”…needless to say that should be the FIRST Troubleshooting suggestion because it’s working like the day I bought it.

  4. We have both filter baskets. The ultra fine that came with it(waste). Paid another $100 for the better accordian filter. Worked fantastic last year. This year even with running 2 x in a row dirt is still on pool bottom. For this amount of $$ it should still work great 5 years later. This is only year 1.

    • Lately, I’ve been facing an issue where the GFCI keeps tripping whenever I connect the battery. I’m unsure of the exact reason behind this problem, but I’ve discovered a peculiar workaround. If I simply connect the battery and allow it to charge for an hour before attaching the dolphin cord, the pool cleaner operates smoothly without triggering the outlet’s tripping mechanism.
